Simply Country Retreats was built with you in mind.
Simply Country Retreats is the brainchild of two sisters (Geri Sauter and Becky Gray) and a lifelong friend (Cindy Duenwald). Between the three of us, we are into nearly everything crafty and have been retreating together for 25 years, since our first trip to Camp Lutherhaven in 1985. As the years passed, friends and family, including our daughters, have joined us. Now our granddaughters have started retreating! We have retreated all around the Northwest, although the location never matters as much as being together. Every retreat shares the same common themes: eating, talking, laughing, crying, staying up late, and actually accomplishing some work.
We hatched the idea for Simply Country Retreats in 2006, thanks to a very knowledgeable and sharing host at a weekend retreat near Stanwood. We realized that hosting like-minded women at retreats was truly an idea we wanted to try and began planning that day. Happily, once our husbands recovered from the initial shock, expense, and amount of work involved, they became very enthusiastic and supportive. With help from family, friends and contractors, these wonderful men built Simply Country Retreats for us as a Valentine’s Day present. We opened our doors in August of 2007. With initial and ongoing support from some loyal retreaters, we have watched our dream become a reality and a success. Now the only thing missing is you!
Who comes here?
Quilters. It is the perfect place to finish those long-overdue projects; all you need to bring is your sewing machine, fabrics and your favorite people.
Teams. Stay here while you compete in tournaments in Spokane, Cheney or one of the small towns in our area.
Group Meetings. School Boards, Church Committees and ASBs will find our comfortable surroundings the perfect place to brainstorm about where they are today - and hope to be in the future.
Parties. Wedding showers, bachelorettes and graduation gatherings will find enough room for their guests to spread throughout the house and into the private garden. (Not to mention that we have ten beds if you have an overflow in your home.)
Scrapbookers. Crop all night long in our large classroom setting with excellent lighting and enough tables for you to spread out your supplies.
YOU! Whatever your reason, we will help make our space work for you. Whether you’re a couple of friends getting away for a night or a large group scrapbooking retreat, we know you’ll find all you need at our retreat house.
